Dismissal - Walkers, Bike Riders, and Bus Riders (FISD and Daycare)
|
Students will not be dismissed before the bell at 3:10. Walkers and bike riders will be dismissed immediately after the bell rings at 3:10. Students will exit through the front doors and turn right to be crossed over to walk along the path in front of Warren.
Parents will not be allowed to walk up to the school to wait for your student. If you wish to walk to the school, please arrange a meeting point with your child on the grassy area at the far end of the building closest to Warren, or across the front driveway where buses are loading students. If you plan to walk up, please be aware that bus students will be loading in the same area.
All FISD and daycare bus riders will be dismissed from the classrooms by a staff member on duty. Once students exit the building, all FISD and daycare buses will be lined up in the same location every day so students will know where to go. ALL STUDENTS NEED TO HAVE THEIR SMART TAG TO GET ON THE BUS.
Car riders will be picked up in the back parking lot of the school. Please use the graphic for the path to follow when picking up your child. (This is the same graphic linked above for car rider arrival procedures.) Please make sure you are in the left lane to make the loop back to the Jones parking lot, and then in the right lane to turn into the parking lot prior to zig zagging through the parking lot prior to picking up your child. This is a double lane, so students can be picked up from either lane and staff will be there to help get students safely to their cars.
All cars picking up a student must have a sign in the window with the student's first and last name written large and clearly with a marker. There are two lanes for student pick up. The first cars in each line should stop prior to the cross walk in the parking lot. Staff members will be on duty to help direct traffic. When cars arrive in the school's parking lot, students will be called over the walkie talkie by a staff member. Students will then be released from their holding areas and exit the school to the back area of the school. Once outside, staff members will be there to help students get to their cars safely. While waiting in the holding areas, students should sit quietly and listen for their name to be called over the walkie talkie. Parents are not allowed to exit their cars.
Please be patient the first couple weeks of school. The process will take some time to establish routines.
